Fethiye is a small holiday resort that overlooks a superb bay
strewed with small islands. The site has become very popular for
beach holidays and yacht cruises. Telmessos: not much has
survived of the Ancient Telmessos except some 20 rock-cut Lycian
tombs. The most beautiful is that of Amyntas and dates back to
the 4C BC. It is in the form of a Ionic Temple with two Ionic
columns. Most of the tombs are of the houses-types reminding the
Lycian wooden houses. Kaya Köy is a ghost village that should
not be missed. The village was deserted by Greek people after
the great exchange of population at the beginning of the
century.. The Dead Sea (Ölü Deniz) is a sheltered lagoon, almost
totally cut off from the sea, where there is a beautiful long
sandy beach.
